Blissful Living Amid COVID-19?
There is no denying that the past few months have been surreal. Many of us began 2020 with resolutions, big plans and a thirsty zeal to accomplish our goals. Granted, more than half of us would have already lost sight of those goals by now, but certainly not due to the restrictions caused by our current state of affairs. How could we have been prepared for such a devastating assault on life as we know it?
I set a goal in January to nurture my blog, which I launched in 2017. Well, this current shelter-in-place order eliminated every excuse that I used for the past 3 years. So here I am. As I type, I struggle with mixed emotions, as the name of my blog is in stark contrast of our reality. Do I proceed? My guiding light, the soft whisper of my soul responds, “Absolutely!” Although overcoming the coronavirus will be a long, arduous process, we must hold on to hope and continue living. We can BE the light and chose to live gratefully and…. blissfully.
Before I move on to my next blog post, I must express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to everyone and anyone who has been impacted by the virus through loss of life, unemployment and overall unrest. I have adopted the practice of sending healing light energy across the world, as demonstrated by Iyanla Vanzant in her daily AntiViral messages. Thanks, Keisha, for the tip. I find it very useful in lessening my feelings of helplessness. This simple and sincere act of sending positive energy to others or saying a prayer for others, is a very kind and restorative gesture. Do what you can to make yourself feel better and do what you must to safeguard your emotional and mental well-being. We have everything that we need within us to get through this. We are resilient. We are compassionate. We are light. We are love.
In my future posts, I will share my definition and examples of blissful living. I will also attempt to re-create some of my favorite blissful moments. I invite you to come along. Open your heart to bliss. It will fantabulous!
